"Giraffes Can't Dance" is a social emotional book about a giraffe who is a little different from all of the other animals around， he doesn't have the best balance or dance moves like everyone else does。 when it came down to the night of the dance party between all of the animals， Gerald felt very out of place and down on himself。 A cricket told him he just needed a different song， and sure enough Gerald could dance once he heard a different song。 I gave this book a 5 star rating because it teach "Giraffes Can't Dance" is a social emotional book about a giraffe who is a little different from all of the other animals around， he doesn't have the best balance or dance moves like everyone else does。 when it came down to the night of the dance party between all of the animals， Gerald felt very out of place and down on himself。 A cricket told him he just needed a different song， and sure enough Gerald could dance once he heard a different song。 I gave this book a 5 star rating because it teaches that just to succeed you don't need to take the same path as everyone else。 I think this is a valuable lesson for many kids to learn at an early age。 。。。more

This is a funny and heartwarming picturebook for ages 3-6。 I feel like it can be tailored to younger kids also when read a certain way， and could serve as an early reader too for kindergarten and maybe early first grade in terms of blocks of text and the vocabulary used。 It also encourages kids to ask or even answer why Gerald can’t dance and to share their favorite music styles。 I loved too that crickets were excellent violin players。

i would use this book on a physical development lesson plan。 I would read this book and then have the children do new movement exercise。 I would play two kinds of music and have the children do a dance。 I like this book because Gerald did not do well to the song the other animals liked。 But he did do well when the moon guided him to a new song。 I feel this book encourages children to try new things。
